Benefits
25% faster information processing — within 30 minutes
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study in 88 healthy university students confirmed Zynamite® S (100 mg single dose) produced 25% faster information processing speed vs. placebo within 30 minutes — a rapid cognitive onset rate more typical of stimulants than botanical polyphenols. The absence of caffeine or stimulant activity makes this fast-acting, measurable cognitive enhancement uniquely positioned.
Improved mood and reduced fatigue
The same study confirmed 24% improvement in Total Mood Disturbances (Profile of Mood States test) and 26% reduction in mental fatigue with Zynamite® S vs. placebo. Mood benefits appeared at the earliest 30-minute measurement point and continued throughout the 5-hour testing period — providing sustained cognitive mood support without stimulant-type mood crash.
Non-stimulant cognitive performance for beverages
Zynamite® S's water solubility and neutral taste make it uniquely suited for cognitive beverages, RTD products, energy drinks, and functional foods where liquid delivery is preferred but stimulant exclusion is desired. The non-stim cognitive benefit allows 'clean energy' and 'functional cognitive' positioning without the regulatory, formulation, and consumer tolerance challenges of caffeine.
21% better complex task performance
Beyond simple reaction time, Zynamite® S improved performance on complex cognitive tasks requiring working memory, attention switching, and executive function — reflecting the broad cognitive enhancement rather than simply alertness improvement. This higher-order cognitive benefit is more relevant to the real-world cognitive demands of students, professionals, and knowledge workers.
Mechanism of action
Mangiferin adenosine antagonism and mitochondrial brain energy
Mangiferin acts as a partial adenosine receptor antagonist — reducing adenosine-driven cognitive fatigue signaling without the full adenosine blockade (and associated anxiety/cardiovascular effects) of caffeine. Simultaneously, mangiferin enhances mitochondrial ATP production in neurons through electron transport chain optimization, providing more efficient cerebral energy metabolism. This dual mechanism (less fatigue signaling + more brain energy supply) explains the rapid cognitive and mood benefits without stimulant-type side effects.
Clinical trials
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study in 88 healthy university students examining Zynamite® S (100 mg) effects on cognitive performance, information processing, mood, and fatigue. Published 2025.
88 healthy university students (18–25 years). Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover; single 100 mg dose Zynamite® S vs maltodextrin placebo. Cognitive battery (TMT, DSST, Stroop) and POMS mood at baseline, 30 min, 3 h, and 5 h post-dose.
Replicated first-trial findings: significant improvements in processing speed (DSST), executive function (TMT), and selective attention (Stroop) at 30 minutes; effects sustained for several hours. POMS mood improved and fatigue reduced. Confirmed 100 mg as effective dose. ClinicalTrials.gov NCT07126717.
First clinical study establishing Zynamite® S cognitive benefits as a non-stimulant mental energy ingredient. Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover design.
119 university students (mean age 20.3 yrs). Double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover; 100 mg or 150 mg Zynamite® S vs placebo.
Both 100 mg and 150 mg doses produced significant improvements in processing speed (DSST), cognitive flexibility (TMT), and selective attention (Stroop) vs placebo. Memory (RAVLT) and mood improvements observed. First clinical validation of water-soluble Zyn-S formulation; published in Nutrients 2025 (PMC12030201).
